Hi, would a trace of phosphate in urine cause itching and is there any way to reduce it?

Not sure that phosphate in urine causes itching but certainly excess in blood causes annoying itching.

Drugs like Calcichew are used with food as phosphate binders to reduce phosphate in the blood.

Your doctor's should be able to help here.

I assume you have talked to a dietitian about foods with potassium. I cut out all foods with preservatives that have "PHOS-" in their names. For example all canned goods, bacon, sausage, lunch meats from meat packing companies, many health foods, health food bars, drinks like Gatorade and Ensure, almost everything in 7-11 are examples. The best foods are fresh or frozen vegies and chicken or fish. Also, no milk products or dark colas (lemon drinks are OK).

Hi, I dont eat any of the above, my meals are macro all counted out and oven baked, having said that I supose I can't escape everything but I dont eat this type of thing deliberately, my system doesnt like a lot now. I have never been offered an appointment with a dietitian.
