Here's an update: Had my doctor appointment today. I am doing well! My GFR is now 59 (from 52) which is almost back to stage 2! That is great! I have lost 10 pounds! and my blood pressure is doing good. So overall, things are looking good. We'll see how we do at next year's visit!

Here's an update
Awesome news....anything you want to share about your success?
I just try to eat right and follow the labels. I write down everything that I eat and watch my sodium, protein, potassium and phosphorus intake. I read a lot about CKD online. and I drink a lot of water. I have a cup of green tea every other day. I read that green tea is good for the kidneys. Hope that helps. That's really all I do.
Good for you! Keep up the good work. With God, all things are possible😀
That’s awesome!!! Congratulations
Brilliant. I know your feeling as I had the same good news after cutting out all processed foods and reducing sodium, potassium, phosphates and sugar, no painkillers and gallons of water... my creatinine went down to 87 and my egfr went from 53 to 61! Stage 2!
How long have you had ckd? Hiw long did it take your gfr to improve that much?
Was only diagnosed 4 months back at stage 3a (knew it was coming as I've kidney infections every 4 -6 weeks). So when I got the news it sparked me into taking immediate action and turned that around in 6 weeks! Cut loads out, no processed crap, no nuts, no crisps, no cakes (odd home made no salt scone or meringue tho), no sugar in my tea or cereal (used honey and then quickly cut it out), switched to 80% solid dark chocolate for treats, cook fresh every night, switched to plain greek yoghurt, drink loads of water, go to gym 4 -5 times a week and still enjoy my red wine! I also totally avoided eating out as that's a salt minefield. Avoiding tomatoes is my biggest downfall as I love pasta and use loads if tomato puree. I've spent hours and hours in supermarkets finding the lowest salt cheese and other products. Very proud of myself and how quickly taste buds have changed as i have historically een an exceptionally fussy eater! I figure ill just keep doung what im doing and hopefully ill remain where i am. I also feel like i can have the odd meal out now
Congratulations! A person after my own heart (and kidney). Yes, it is work, but it does work!
How long have you had ckd and how mucj does your number flunctuate every year?
Hi Cutelale3! If you're asking me, I've had CKD since 2014. my GRF was 42.
How did they cobclude you had ckd? Was there no underlying factor for gfr decrease? I am just confused. I am 32 and only found out my gfr had decreased when i developed a bad pain on my right side which eventually led to the discovery of right side hydronephrosis.
Doctor said it was my high blood pressure that caused the CKD.
What was your gfr when you were diagnosed?
