Hi I’m 22 recently after getting off birth control started having some serious pain around my pelvic/back on both side went in for a uti check came back I had blood in urine so they sent it out long story short I am now doing my third urine test as they keep coming back with a small amount of red blood cells but no infection iv had a pelvic ultrasound done which was clear getting good. Really nervous that it’s something more serious with my kidneys I had blood work done in April all my levels were good so no repeat has been done as of yet any ideas !

Hi there, can't give you an answer except to say exactly the same happened to me March this year. I was terrified something awful was wrong. I'd actually visited walk in centre at local hospital as it was a Saturday and I had awful back pains and just felt off. They only did urine test, told me I had red cells in it and gave me antibiotics. I still had the pain after finishing the course. I've never had a UTI in my life and I'm 65. I had to go back to the hospital for a different appointment and I mentioned to them what had happened, they said probably wasn't a UTI at all. They took bloods and tested it for kidney function - all fine. No idea why I had had blood in urine, couldn't see it with your eyes, only showed up on the test strips - hospital not concerned at all. Complete mystery??.

See my labs once April we’re fine for kidney function so I’m like does it come on the quick since I only start d having pains/red blood cells in July I had nothing in 2017 as I had a baby so they checked so I’m completely stumped as to what’s going on !

It's all very odd isn't it? Once the hospital had done blood test for my kidneys and told me all was ok, no more appointments needed??. I did have GP one time tell me bloods had shown kidneys not functioning properly,.I went to hospital, they did same test, told me kidneys were fine?? Who do you believe?.

Hmm idk that’s a tough one in a sense I would be more inclined to trust the doctor that deals with that problem on the same note hospitals do deal with those test but don’t specialize in that so I’m not it’s what to tell ya I hope the hospital test was right !

Well that's who I'm going with to be honest. The consultant I saw at hospital wasn't a kidney specialist? Neither is the GP. Both had blood tests - 2 different outcomes?. On another note, my 88 year old mum spent some time in hospital in 2017, they discovered she had stage 4 CKD, she showed no signs of any kidney disease?. The Dr said she has probably had it for years?. Just carry on as normal, drink plenty water 😊.

Hi Ladies,

I have invisible hematuria..blood in the urine. No pain or symptoms.

I had a cystoscopy to check for bladder issues which was negative. The urologist told me

that it is more common with women.

In my case, it was discovered that I have an autoimmune kidney filtration disorder which causes me to spill protein and invisible blood into the urine.

I doubt that is the issue with you. Eat well, drink water and stay on top of it.

A urologist may be a good person to check with.

Let me know how you make out.

I have one kidney, Mild IGA Nephropathy, Medullary Sponge kidney and a renal cyst, I am very fortunate that my kidney disease has not impacted on my daily life, it is well managed , I make sure that I keep hydrated and keep a reasonable level of fitness and have a good diet.I am sure that the the renal consultant will get to the bottom of what is going on

Mlane9626, I will be 65 in January. I have tested positive for microscopic blood in urine for about 25 years, shows as high as dipstick goes. At first it was test everything and found nothing, then about every 5 years or so a different doctor will decide it is time to investigate and all get same results. My urine tests always come back positive and it is just noted as normal for me. I would really like to know what is going on and I think there has to be someone that can tell me but so far explanation is that some people just have that. Hope all goes well for you. As everyone else has told you, don’t stress it, that is hard on your body.

That’s crazy ! As of right now I’m getting a kidney ultrasound done as my tied test came back positive for red blood cells again this time it also came back with yeast but nothing is growing when they send my urine out so I’m not sure let’s hope we both get some answers !

You might want to see if you have an infection.

I’m not sure every time they send it out to see if it grows anything it doesn’t so I’m not sure I do know it came back with yeast last time an this time so they have scheduled me for a kidney ultrasound
