Potatoes?

I’ve recently seen my gfr results go down to 47 from 57 last year and have been reading as much information on this site that I can. To improve diet many people say give up on potatoes. Would rice be a good alternative? I would be grateful to know what others have as an alternative. Thanks

I am at GFR stage 3 and eat rice instead of potatoes as have to reduce potassium intake. It works for me.

Thanks. Would white be better than brown or doesn’t it matter

white rice because it doesn't have husks.

Haven't eaten a potato in nine months, along with many other things. Yes, it helped to raise my GFR.

I eat white rice, although sometimes I cheat and have potatoes but double boil them.

It might be better to peel them, cut them and soak them for few hours then discard water replacing with fresh prior to cooking
