Hi Boycie,

Chronic pain is so difficult to deal with, especially if it keeps you from your interests or just from living life normally. Pain killers help me and i have fairly high doses of paracetamol but not able to take anti-inflammatories of course. Worst pain is arthritis and spondylitis and diverticulitis. I have been familiar with pain for as long as I can remember, and in a way i have accepted it as inevitable and do what I can for it when it is particularly bad. I am sure you do the same as me but you can have pain from lots of different illnesses. I do find when it is not too bad that if I do things which 'take my mind off it' (!!?) this can help. Other times I simply go to bed or lie down with my old friend the hot water bottle (wouldn't be without one or two) Anti spasmodics help but not wise to get too dependent on them.

Don't know whether this helps you or not, but hope it might do.

All the best to you.

Thank you so much for replying, you have made me feel a lot better. I have just accepted the pain I have battled against it for too long. I had an appointment with the pain clinic, they are going to put me patches which last a week at a time and I won't have to wait for the pain to be bad enough for pain meds. I have a new best friend my hot water bottle. Thanks again for your reply

Hi

No, but you might look at fibromyalgia if that relates to your condition.

Hi thanks for that, I think you're right I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but my pain clinic refers to it as chronic pain syndrome
