Taking on the 3 Peaks in 24hours Challenge

On the 16th -17th June I will be taking on the 3 peaks in 24hrs challenge. Why?

Well.... I'm the Corporate Fundraising Manager at Dyslexia Action and manage our corporate partnerships and being a fairly active person I was asked to accompany a team of 10 staff from our corporate supporter Bibliotheca on their challenge.

I will be getting the train up to Manchester (where Bibliotheca are based) on the Friday. Hopefully have a good nights sleep and then we will all be setting off early on Saturday morning in the minibus that will be home for the next 2 days (that's going to smell pleasant by the end of the challenge!). We hope to arrive in Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis with enough time to get some food before we start the challenge at 5pm. We then have 24 hours to climb Ben Nevis, drive to the Lake District and climb Scafell Pike and then zoom across (all within the speed limit of course) to Wales where we will climb up Snowdon and hopefully be at the bottom by 5pm on the Sunday to complete the challenge.

I feel exhausted just writing about it. I am not sure I have really thought about what I am about to undertake, going more with the 'yeah, it'll be fine' attitude. I have my boots all ready, lots of yummy energy gels - the rhubarb and custard ones are my favourite and my trusty RAB body warmer to keep me cosy in the minibus and it acts as a great pillow.

Bibliotheca are doing this to raise much needed funds for Dyslexia Action to help us to continue our work to provide help and support to individuals with dyslexia. I will also be raising money, so if you would like to support me, please visit

I will be sure to keep you posted on my training progress and how the challenge goes
