The old me came back.

Everything was going so well! I was going through long periods of abstinence and on the odd occasions when I did have a drink it was never in excess. I even had the audacity to give advice on this forum. It's such a pity that I can't follow my own advice.

We are back in our place in the sun, Lanzarote, and I have been drinking every day since we got here. My worst day was Saturday when I had two bottles of wine, two pints of lager and double vodkas after that ,I don't know how many vodkas. And a pretty bad hangover on Sunday. This is the old me back to how life used to be and I don't like it one little bit.

I am sitting here at 4.30 am full of resolve to get back on the wagon and waiting for daylight so that I can get out walking.

Here we go, day one again.

Practise makes perfect. Holidays are a massive trigger. However, you are taking your own advice. You advised me to walk first thing to set you up for a good day. Its a good start. Download some quit lit on your phone. Keep busy. I slipped up too I attended an event I booked ages ago and had pre booked a bottle of wine it was on the table all paid for and looking at me 😳 Back to fighting the good fight Mr.

You’re on holiday, pal. No one’s judging you, you’re a human being.

I have had to start over many, many times. Glad you are going to get out walking and are back on track to not drink.

Cant say much. Been there, done that. See if this statement from the book makes sense:

All of us felt at times that we were regaining control, but such intervals—usually brief—were inevitably followed by still less control, which led in time to pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization.

That statement makes perfect sense, I have been there so many times.
