Planning and patience

Listened to a podcast which gave some great advice for sobriety I thought I would share.Planning - how much time did you think about and plan drinking alcohol? What to drink, where to buy, who to drink or not drink with how much to drink. How to drink around giving lifts or how to get lifts/ taxis home. ... You need to spend an equivalent time ( early stages) planning your alcohol free time. What your doing, where, when and with who. Fun things with supportive people and time alone to chill, read quit lit or listen to podcasts. You need to plan for success.

Patience - Your body is benefiting from not drinking but it takes ages to learn to deal with and learn to be sober. In the first year you are gradually getting stronger and better at dealing with stress, triggers etc. You learnt to drink over many years. Be patient it will take time to learn not to drink you might slip up but you will get stronger and its totally a journey worth travelling.

Have a fabulous day friends

Thanks for sharing 🤗 Food for thought. I sometimes slip into listening to my alcoholic self planning our next drink why it will be ok and how we deserve it!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ But then I talk to my sober self of all the reasons we definitely shouldn’t drink and what we can do not to relapse.

Have a great day 😊
