We are still on the holiday island of Lanzarote, with all of the additional temptation that brings. Only had three really bad days in the three weeks that we have been here and have managed eight days completely alcohol free. Last time we were here I think I was permanently drunk, so that's progress. Counting the units of alcohol still shows that I am drinking more than double the recommended weekly amount. I love the feeling that I am experiencing right now as I sit here writing this without a hangover and waiting for daylight so that I can get out for my daily walk before the heat of the day starts. I really must remember this feeling the next time I have a drink in my hand and go into self destruct mode again.
I love this group because I can share my thoughts and experiences with people who understand because the people close to me just don't get it.
Thanks for being here everyone.

Yes , my wife drinks but at sensible levels and knows when to stop, but this last week we have been joined by my sister and her partner and they like a good drink. My sister is in complete denial about having a problem with the booze but I am convinced that she does. So it has been difficult with them here.
Thank you, BBQ at ours this afternoon to say farewell to my sister and partner. That could be a trial for me but they leave tomorrow so abstinence should be a lot easier from then on.
So glad that you are doing great, there--how odd. My sis showed me the "vineyard" photos a couple of months, ago, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about what the place must be like, there! LOL, if we can just get our land sold to folks who don't need water rights--and had more volcanic ash! Ha, that would be a blast! ENJOY AND RECOUP, while you are there!
