Well I didn't do dry January as I didn't believe I could, however after looking more into speeches and recently started reading The Good Drinker, as I don't particularly feel great, I'm 100% committed to really taking a step back from drinking, not stopping but just to enjoy 1 drink, and not "well may as well finish the bottle" . I'm currently feeling rather depressed, anxious and feeling the pinch in the pocket, but mainly depressed and not focused,

Cutting back
Thanks for your reply, I'll have a look, just looking for people's comments on their efforts and thoughts which I can relate to,
So how many days have gone by just drinking one drink? If you cant address the malady you are talking about, your intake will go up. If you fall into the "problem drinker" category you may never drink safely again. Be honest and keep posting your progress.
If you can manage to have one drink, then give it a try. And keep trying. The only way to discover I’m powerless over alcohol was to keep trying to control it. If you can’t control it give it up. If you can’t give it up, seek treatment.
Well, Thursdays are normally an evening out for me and my partner as we are both divorced and its one day where we both enjoy a few drinks and a meal, we did go out and I only had the one pint, I feel great this morning and to be honest I do think now I probably didn't need that 1 drink, I have had 1 drink in a week and haven't missed it, I do feel good,
good news. Keep trying.
