Anxiety

I drank friday and Saturday night then drink free Sunday and Monday , returning but to work this morning and the anxiety has kicked in and the positively has disappeared so need to get through today and the rest of this week and spring back into action

Yes, need to bring in awareness on why the anxiety. Sometimes its just the relentless mind.

There was a doctor who wrote a letter to AA back in 1920s, there he writes: They are restless, irritable and discontented, unless they can again experience the sense of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks-drinks which they see others taking with impunity.

You can add other manifestations like fear, anxiety. For me boredom and fear was severe. So, I will succumb to the desire again and pick up drinking. Then the craving kicks in. Later in the book they talk about the blind spots and peculiar mental twists the individual goes through just prior to the drink.

And these are the 3 main factors we get caught in the abyss.

Steve, hope you are doing well. The initial days are very critical. Thats the time you want to stay connected. Hopefully you were able to manage your anxiety. Its part of the spiritual malady that the book Alcoholics Anonymous talks about. We catalog that is causing the anxiety and take action.
