I'd be interested to hear other tales of how people have dealt with relapse. I was in rehab for 4 weeks in August, rode that wave of positivity in September, then slipped back in October. Currently back on the wagon, 3 days clean.

You didn’t mention if you have any support outside of the rehab. Before you left there, they should have given you all the information you would need to stay in recovery. A twelve step program would probably be included. Nothing I did before I adopted my twelve step program,AA in my case, kept me from relapsing. Once I started my program, I had many relapses until I “got” it. When I relapsed, I would take a deep breath, go to my meeting of choice and raise my hand to receive another 24 hour chip. Everyone there had relapsed and they knew how I felt. Keep coming back and don’t give up, they’d tell me. 🍀
