I’m new on here, looking for a way to help me stop binge drinking, I have lots of stomach pains, and diarrhoea, hot sweats & freezing shivers, and horrendous joint pain & muscle pain, I can stop for a while but since turning 40, it’s been harder & harder. I know my life will be cut short but I’m just can’t stop, I’ve done 6 - 9 months before but now it’s 8 pints cans almost every night and looking for advice, I’m scared to go to my doctors as it’s already on my file, why can’t I stop.
I feel the damage is getting done. : I’m new on... - Drink Free

Hello thank you for reply .
That is very good staving off going to AA. Three weeks well done.
I have still reservations concerns that you think can have one or two drinks yes maybe so if can cope but in reality you probably can not..
A dependent alcoholic is a person who has to be aware of others and thems elves...
No matter how they may think still drink.
It is good your going to AA that sensational and things happening for you work and life home etc..
The big issues what if it happens again..
Alcoholism which you have never goes away seen those thinking be able to cope ..
What happens if you go out with colleagues have a drink relapse and more and more again.
It could happen probably will then and continue to do so might now later in life or even in stress ful situations.
The need for the crutch a dependent alcoholic which you are always be one..
I gather from reading may be younger than me , I simply am pointing out the facts explaining to you.
One does meet those thinking fine very much ignore and dismiss not listening.. I can not tell you what to do but if do relapse please am here and am supportive..
As a reformed alcoholic same as you one time young relapsed three times..
Must add as you have explained coping with stress seeing therapist.
Also may I suggest speaking to websites as well.
More you learned educate knowledge be able to deal with stress and anything that happens.
Please if can help further please ask me..
Please take care..
