Major Left MCA Stroke

Hi all,

My father had a major stroke 10 weeks ago and is still in hospital. He is slowly getting sensation back in his right side. He is trying to speak but we can’t understand what he is saying. He can do basic puzzles/exercises but it’s not possible to communicate. We’ve been using puzzles, magazines, stroke exercise book, photos - does anyone have any other recommendations for rehab materials we could use to help him and stimulate him?

are you UK based? The charity Headway were amazing when I was ill with a stroke. There's also a very active Headway section of health unlocked.Music/Podcasts/audio books might be helpful and something like emotional mood boards perhaps? Art things? Yoga was a life saver.
