Hi I had a stroke 3yr ago, I’ve struggled with memory issues since. It was a right sided MCA stroke. Do any of you struggle with memory issues after right sided stroke, most of what I read suggests it’s generally left sided strokes that cause this issue.
I was advised to get my ill health pension reviewed at 3yrs but struggling to find evidence that memory is affected by right sided stroke.

I had a right sided stroke at 53, now 59… i have memory issues since. I went to a neuro psychologist who did a number of tests to figure out my cognitive status- can anyone help with the name of those type of tests? They measured my ability for abstract thinking, and degree of impairment? Any thoughts?
Thanks for sharing. Sorry you suffer similar. I rely heavily on phone apps for meds, reminding me of appointments or tasks I need to do like phoning the vet. It still fails when I tick I’ve taken a med with the intention of going to take it then I get distracted. I then later question if I did take it. My tablets have a stock control so I can work them out, but my inhalers I can’t do that with.
I also do daily stretches then find myself asking have I done them, at weekends hubby is around to confirm, but weekdays I can’t recall. Hubby suggested I get a white board to tick when I’ve done things. It’s frustrating. I had a phone call with my GP and I got all my facts ready, she said you have a great memory, not realising it’s just I’ve prepared with notes 😂🤗
I answered to your post on Hughes thread too- trying to help you find answers. I use what youve mentioned also but have learned not to tick them off until actually done because of distractions/ i will not tick
Off until actually done no matter what- i too learned the hard way from getting distracted
