Hi my 87yrs grandad has recently came home from hospital after 8 long months we are so happy to have him home but we are having so many problems with care providers.. 1st the Sara steady would anyone be able to tell me if the steady can be used to transfer room to room as we are be advised that this is not possible.. We yave been doi g it this way for the last 5 weeks and have encountered no problem but the care provider he has 4 times a day refuse to use in this way.. His home is not been designed for a wheel chair and he really struggling going room to room and prefer using the Sara steady.. I've read the manual and it's never stated you can't but also doesn't say you can.. If anyone can help it would be really appreciated.. Thanks so much

Hi Kirsty

Are they council carers or private

Hospitals use them for exactly what you use them for

It’s better to transfer to a chair because it helps you grandfathers mobility and muscle strength

If they are adamant they have to transfer him that way

Ask to see there written method statement and risk assessment score

Then ask them to do a risk assessment score for using the Sara steady

There are belts slings that fit the Sara steady too
