yes u can use karela in your food and menthi in your food it vary usefull to control

The word "curable" is not applicable to DM. It is not a disease (caused by microbes), It is a metabolic disorder. I suggest that the word "normal' is more apt here. DM can be kept under control and normal life is possible. Allpathy, homeopathy, Ayurveda and home remdies along with good diet and exercise can keep sugar levels 'normal' and that means the person is "cured" (in real terms). Let us be positive and optimistic and do whatever is possible.
