Vitamine D Deficiency.
No- Latest research says vitamin D Deficiency has no correlation with diabetes or heart disease , though it was earlier thought that there was some co-relation. Till date there is no evidence for any vitamin or antioxidant supplement proven to be helpful to mankind. If you have deficiency if any, Stick to natural sources -eat raw food/ least processed which would help you with all micronutrients , vitamins and minerals.
Go slow especially on Vitamin D pills even if you have deficiency. I am T2 and I had D deficiency. I took a full course 2-3 times during last 2-3 years. My vitamin D level went up , but it did not help me in anyway. I stopped measuring my vitamin d level.
Please note Excessive vitamin d consumption could lead to calcification of arteries unless it is accompanied by adequate vitamin K2-7.
Stick to natural sources. Best is take adequate sun bath during 11 AM to 2 PM for 30 mnts-45 mnts Daliy. Sun bath with your T shirt and your short. Just walk in a garden or near a sea beach. Expose your body to the maximum extent possible. Eat Sea fish like salmon . Egg also has some natural vitamin d. Dairy products have some vitain d.

Hello KULATHOOREATHU I have to agree with both my colleagues that some meds may cause the deficiency and that obtaining some of the sun on a good day will help the situation, diet with certain proteins and 30 or 45 minutes in the sun will also help the body absorb Vitamin D. The more natural, the better. Caution on areas that you may have or prove to cause an allergy. As you have identified the deficiency, you now have some guidance in making it less of a deficiency. Make the corrections and continue to enjoy your life!
Hi KULATHOOREATHU ,
As lfn1 has said, you have to be careful if there is an allergy. Some medications can give people rashs if they are out in the sun for a long period of time. I take certain medications that say if you take them, then you must limit the amount of time outside when the sun is overhead. If you stay out too long, there may be a rash and/or something more serious that the doctor will have to check out in a last minute appointment.
I am diabetic and taking regularly COD liver capsules. Any suggestions please.
