Very informative video. A must watch. Blood sugars should not rise above 140 any time. So, instead of 2 hr. ppbs, check blood sugars at one hour. Higher than 140 blood sugars suggests insulin resistant.
Medical Revolution Glucose Spike: Very... - Diabetes India
Medical Revolution Glucose Spike
Thank you Hidden For sending me such a beautifully informative video.
Sir can you please have a look at my question and reply. TY
An informative video. Thanks to all for circulating this.
It is logical and based on pure science.
👍
True. But this video is related to glucose spikes. The same thing we have been discussing on this forum.
The only view I don't agree to is eating rice - before or after veg., fruits protein and fats.
It's hard to believe that this man could prevent glucose spikes by eating rice after vegetables, protein and fats. It's not easy for Japanese to stop eating rice though. It's also interesting to know that young and slim persons could also have glucose spikes.
True that young and slim can also have glucose spikes. Very young boys in their twenties and early thirties too get heart attacks.
I also strongly against eating rice - Diabetic or nonDiabetic.
I lost 7 kgs in a month and diagnosed a db. Though not taking meds, on my Doc's advice stopped sugar, sugary drinks and rice absolutely. Not eating banana, grapes, chikoo, papaya and mango at all. I eat four chapatis of mixed flour wheat n jowar with one bowl each of subji and dal. In dinner I take jowar roti or quinoa/rajgir khichadi. I eat salad before or during meals. I take curd or buttermilk with both meals. I take half a glass of milk with a pinch of haldi before sleep. I do kapalbhati for 15 mts and 10 mts anulomvilom and small walks after each meal besides 30 minutes daily walk in the evening. I have also started swimming and do 3 length of 50 meters. My last fbs was 114 and hba1c was 6.4 pp2 was 123. I take empty stomach overnight soaked fenugreek grains. I have lost muscles which is my major concern. I m 68, 5.4", 60 kg.
In my view your wt is ok. But wt reduction in diabetes is common.
With regards to your life style, daily routine and food menu sounds good to start with.
Your PP is ok. fasting is little higher.
Try to control your sugar with diet and exercise.
Going forward, you can think of reducing carbs. by substituting with fat and protein.
Also, buy a glucometer to monitor your blood sugars at home.
In case the blood sugar increases, consult your doctor for medication!
If you are T2 with weakness towards rice, what perhaps you can do is eat brown rice or ponni boiled rice light fried with 2 TSF Cow Ghee/ coconut oil and with liberal quantities of small cut vegetables such as Cauliflower, Carrot, Green peas and capsicum.
Quanity: One small bowl of Fried rice containing 100 GM's - 150 GM's.
(Glycemic index for the fried rice as described above would be around 20-30 I suppose and glycemc load would not be much ).
Or even a small cup of whole long wheat ( Emmer wheat) boiled can be taken after taking Veg salad, protein/ fat.
Any views Suramo?
Can you also please communicate what maximum LDL can be allowed For T2, if you are with LCHF such as Ghee and Co.?
If there is any literature or randomised trial on allowable or safe max limit of LDL?
And if any one with T2 can update as to how much LDL he is getting with LCHF with Ghee and co.? And whether any T2 medicine is taken with LCHF?
I would advise to avoid rice in any form. Brown rice has a 5% benefit over white rice.
I'd recommend to avoid wheat too.
Both rice and wheat are high gi gl food. Don't know if fried rice has very low gi. Please share the link. Also high carbs with high fats are a disaster.
I don't take statins and I believe cholesterol theory was /is a fake one coined just to sell statins. Now a days non-hdl cholesterol report is advised. I have discussed this just a few days back. Eat the right diet and let the nature decide what should be the ldl levels. Even for nonDiabetic people I recommend carbs intake as low as possible, maximum at 150g of complex carbs and completely removing refined sugars.
I'd love those who have reversed/controlled Diabetes to share their lipid profiles with us. Personally, I’m not very much obsessed about lipids.
Any rice I'd not recommend.
Sir what should be the ideal fasting serum insulin levels
83 for adults.
66 for children.
60 for pregnant ladies.
A great piece of information about avoiding of blood spikes everyone of us must know whether diabetic or not. Thank you.
