My name is Peter. In June this year is was diagnosed with high blood sugar of 19. The doctor to put me on diabetes drugs - low dose. I have been frequently checking my blood sugar with constant progress, mid las month is was 6.4, and my blood pressure is normal only with high pulpitation that at times goes upto 105. I have been experiencing persistent headache and chest pain. I the doctor advised me to go for ECG and ECHO test to establish the condition of my heart. Both results came out positive that the heart condition was normal. Having explained to the physician my history, he advised me to stop taking diabetes medication and go back for checkup after one week and contact him. He also recommended for me following tests; HbA1c, Urinal and Thyroid blood function test.
It is true that I have diabetes or not....Kindly advise.

At this stage it may not be valid to say whether you are or not a diabetic. To be on safer side, assume that you are carrying diabetic gene.Keep monitoring sugar levels regularly at home and lab and take remedial measures as warranted.
You have stated that your blood sugar level is 19 mmol/L (342 mg/dL). This is very high.
Diabetes is diagnosed with the following blood tests:--
Fasting blood glucose level -- diabetes is diagnosed if it is higher than 126 mg/dL two times .
Random (nonfasting) blood glucose level -- you may have diabetes if it is higher than 200 mg/dL, and you have symptoms such as increased thirst, urination, and fatigue (this must be confirmed with a fasting test)
Oral glucose tolerance test -- diabetes is diagnosed if the glucose level is higher than 200 mg/dL after 2 hours .
