hi bujji babu saw your post, i am in 53 and suffering from diabetics for years, having medicines as prescribed by doctors. but my wife is also suffering from diabetics for years and doctors prescribed her insulin. And she is fine with sugar >250 (before insullin). I would suggest u to consult with a good endocrinologist / dermatologist and go for your father insulin it is safe one. also asked your father to do walk for min 45 minutes in morning / evening.

See his weight, if more than ideal wt kindly reduce and cut down the carb to 100 gms cooked in one day. take lot of vegetables and diabetes fruits and salad. someone has already suggested walking daily at least for 30 mts.
