I am reproducing a question raised in another thread by another member, as a detailed discussion is deemed fit probably due to my ignorance.

"... the question still remains unanswered that why lipids - cholesterol, ldl and triglyceride stick to the arterial walls that too more specifically to coronaries. What are the factors that promote such atherosclerosis formation and narrowing of specific arteries only."

I am interested because have undergone 4 angioplasties with 3 stenting and more blocks are getting tightened day bye day in spite of the efforts to avoid recognised causes/factors that lead to cardiac problems, right from my 35th age.

I learnt in an your tube research oriented presentation that the natural repair process of the rupture caused to the coronary arteries result in blocks and these can be corrected by consumption of "C" vitamins by way of items like orange juice, guavas etc. The speaker negates the theory that the lipids cause the blocks.

I request our members to search and listen to this presentation and offer comments. It is a different matter as to whether diabetic people can consume very high loads of such juices due to the possibility of hike in sugar levels.

This is Dr Linus Pauling theory you mentioned

Instead of juice of fruits we can use lemon juice

Dear indiacratus,

Thank you for the clarification. Like @ suramo I also had been bothering about this. Increased BP reducing the sticking of LDL on the inner wall of the blood vessels is obvious.

Pressure cannot be same through out the length of the plumb line in case of rigid pipe. In blood vessels situation can be better for two reasons.

1. It is in pulses & not a continuous flow.

2. Blood vessel expands locally & allows the pulse to travel.

Since pressure is less in veins, chances of stiction is more there. But we don't hear much about such cases. It may be due to reduced risk compared to Coronary arteries.

Cerebral thrombosis is supposed to be due to the blocking of micro blood vessels by clots reaching there. That is different from something sticking to the inner wall & reducing the diameter of larger arteries.

Atherosclerosis of Coronary arteries drawing more attention or concern may be because, as you said, it kills all on a sudden.

What I am trying to know is the reason why Atherosclerosis is more in Coronary arteries than in others, if it is a fact. I did not mean that there is no sticking in other arteries or veins.

Most of those who have suffered Atherosclerosis had not been Dengue patients. More over the Dengue patients either get cured in a short while or succumb to it; they do not continue to suffer the planet loss problem.

Not only that, reduction of platelets will only reduce clots.

Guess dogs can synthesis vitamin 'C' and therefore they don't get heart disease.
