Is this cure????: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... - Diabetes India
Is this cure????
lol.....तमसो मा ज्योतिर्ग्मय ......
Thanks for this. Very interesting if a bit dense! (Or I'm dense!)
May be.....but let us give it a try....or else we do not have any other method to get cured....(besides long wheat)
LOL...Im am following both LCHF and long wheat....now will try this....
Marta kya na karta???/ hahahahahaha
cure
More of long term remission than cure, I would say. Loss of fat from liver and pancreas seems to restore hepatic and pancreatic insulin sensitivity, but peripheral insulin sensitivity is unaffected.
Why is it that excessive fat deposition in liver and pancreas takes place only in some individuals, who turn diabetic, but not in other obese people? Genes?
There is sudden raise of diabetes in India.....it has grown 125% during 1990 to 2014.
What could be reason??? Genes???
Do we Indians carry so faulty genes???
And if it is so.....why my forefathers were not affected???
@ jingale....

This says other way round....
NAFLD is related to insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome and may respond to treatments originally developed for other insulin-resistant states (e.g. diabetes mellitus type 2) such as weight loss, metformin, and thiazolidinediones.[3] Up to 80% of obese people have the disease.
So if you could reduce your insulin resistance....you could cure your fatty liver...and fatty pancreas..
It is a temporary cure or remission unless long term studies are carried out. The pubmed paper is a rather long, rambling paper to go thru'. Try reading the ones at the links below instead.
The study is known as the Newcastle study which was carried out in 2011 and the study lasted only 8 weeks. After the 8-week diet, volunteers had reduced the amount of fat in their liver and pancreas.
This helped to restore their insulin production and put their Type 2 diabetes into remission. Three months later, some had put weight back on, but most still had normal blood glucose control. This caused international interest, but the study was very short as it was only eight weeks and the question remained whether the diabetes would stay away.
The lead researcher Prof. Ron Taylor decided to launch a new study, the results of which were published in March 2016. You can read the interesting stories here:
Hmm.....temporary....lol again as Mr
Mike says....stop doing what you were doing and you won't get what you have got
I had downloaded the Newcastle study paper (600 kcal/day diet) & studied in 2011 itself on coming across the news of its presentation at the annual ADA conference.
I have reported my analysis of the paper in my Appropedia.org article then itself.
In my opinion the study was conducted in a hurry berry & duration of study was too short for getting cure.
The paper towards its end has given some numbers which indicate that most of the subjects reverted to near initial condition on returning to previous (usual) diet.
The link to that section of my article is excluded due to the restriction imposed here.
George jee you said in ur reply.......The paper towards its end has given some numbers which indicate that most of the subjects reverted to near initial condition on returning to previous (usual) diet.
So this reminded me the sentence of Mr Mike that person should stop doing what made him diabetic.
So i asked what do u say about this....
Nothing more sir....
@cure jee,
It appears to me that you are confused.
During LWMDR one has to avoid fruits & sweet things. That way he may be right. But that is not till death of the patient; that is the difference.
More over I don't think that anybody will be on LW diet in general. So the statement that one should stop doing what made him diabetic DOES NOT APPLY TO LWMDR.
ShooterGeorge
What is the success rate of LWMDR? Any success stories other than yours? PS : Genuine question, not rhetorical.
@george jee....
What do u think???
George sir...I am really thankful to you
..anup.....and all other members of this forum.
After getting diagnosed.. I was very depressed. But after reaching to this forum I again started living....
Some hope for cure...or medfree life seen...some hope to avoid complications seen thru posts of urs and anups..
However after I am still confused
As what is. frank diabetes... And what is pre diabetic.
With pre diabetic it is much easy to get cured...but case like me..at diagnosis 13.5 Hba1c is real challenge.
.
As soon as people find that their blood sugar is stable even with starchy & sweetie food, they stop giving feedback and maintain status quo. Hence I don't know about any other case of cure but strongly believe that there are.
Most of the people have no service mentality. Once their purpose is serve, the simply revert to tthemselves & be happy.
Thank you for the question.
George sir...
I submitted my progress last week.My HBa1c was 6.9
Waiting for next Hba1c ....
Still consuming long wheat in chapatti form.
However total wheat I am consuming is about 120 Gms per day.
120 gm wheat then how much is your daily carb intake?
1.5 chapatti lunch+1.5 chapatti dinner. Other carbs such as tomato nuts not counting.
@ cure jee,
From those words it comes out that you are not following LWMDR but eatig some wheat at your choice/convenience.
If you are a physician & give a prescription to a patient and if he/she alter it at their choice/ignorance, will you expect the same result that you anticipated while prescribing?
Hey..mistake....one chapatti =40 GM's.=22 GM's carbs.
So total 3 chapatti=66gms.
Not 120gms
Sorry
My brain is not working.... I need more cholesterol I guess...lol
.
What is your current lipid profile ?
hmmmm bit interesting on D3 and B12 parts...
On 13/02/2016:
Total Cholesterol-167
HDL-37
Triglycerides-91
LDL-117
D3-18.74
B12 -553
TESTOSTERONE-264.79
TG/HDL=2.45
HBa1c- 10.5
ON -14/03/2016:
Total Cholesterol-168
HDL-43
Triglycerides-83
LDL-109
D3-34.45
B12- 383
TESTOSTERONE-297.58
TG/HDL=1.93
HBa1c- 8.4
ON -15/04/2016:
Total Cholesterol-175
HDL-42
Triglycerides-82
LDL-115
D3-24.85
B12- 426.3
TESTOSTERONE-324.67
TG/HDL=1.95
HBa1c- 6.9
I want to bring TG/HDL below 1.And I think I will be thru.
You have better lipids, looking at your weight.
Your TG/HDL ratio is fine. Further reduction will be difficult.
Is it Thyrocare ? other cardiac markers?
D3 and B12, both have decreased. Any supplements for that ?
You are testing too frequently.
Yes this is thyrocare.....D3 was low ...gone up and then next month again down...god knows for what reason....
B12 down after heavy dose of metformin....again on its way back to normal.
May be due to increase consumption of chiken/fish and mutton.
Non vegetarian ...so may be my body knows how to process meat to B12.
Now this month consuming home made butter heavily...also shrimps...and fish....
Let us see what impact it given on lipid.
By the way....As they say dietary cholesterol has very low impact on blood cholesterol....My experience is different.
It does give big impact....let us see in my next lipid profile....I am gonna land above 200 on total cholesterol.
George Sir......
I mean what I am eating is long wheat....not ordinary wheat.
Although some times I am forced to eat normal wheat when I eat out for some business meetings .Like for few days I was in Chennai that time I ate normal wheat.
My weight is now 95 KG. I am eating 1.5 chapatti for lunch and 1.5 chapatti for dinner. Plus home made butter and eggs or usal/palak smoothie for breakfast.
Afternoon snacks I consume almond/ pista /walnuts .
Two times tea with milk without sugar(no sweeteners added..not even stevia)
In between if i feel hungry i eat Tomato or cucumber.
No fruits.
About Hba1c when diagnosed was 13.1. Some where I mentioned 13.5 ...but that was from some other lab.Thyrocare gave 13.1.
Yes if you want I can send u my lab reports.
About publishing same.....I guess it will be appropriate to publish them only when I land below 6.00 Hba1c.
Plz give me ur email address and i will send u scanned copies of all reports including HBa1c ...d3....b12....liver function...kidney function..
Following is link about my Hba1c figures.
healthunlocked.com/diabetes...
Well why I was disappointed was because my average blood sugar was not matching with HBa1c.From average blood sugar I was expecting to land below6.00
I am trying hard.....and expecting guidance and best wishes from u all.
Hmmmm...how about coconut meat instead of VCO???
