I have faced this dilemma. The American guidelines include oats and sweet potato among the ten superfoods for diabetics. In fact,I was eating oats for breakfast(about 30gms per serving) and quite liked the dish. But I was then advised by my clinic that both are a big NO for Indian diabetics. Then,I stopped oats and some time back switched to long wheat porridge. It is working well. There is plenty of info on this site about long wheat.Just search for it.

First to avoid maximum of carb content like grains inculding oats Some of them says it is low g1 however it is good to avoid. By less quantity of grains u managed add some proteins like channa dal bengal dal moong dal horse gram etc each dal may alternatively consumed . For best thing u may mange yourself by test

After FBS what u eat breakfast after 2 hours found the No. by glucometer .

next day change the food or reduced the food quantity of grains u may test for seveal days with different foods u may get no. difference Then u decide your BS not spike more on which diet

NO Please don't.

Concerned Can u please clarify night times if 40 gms or above grains or carbohydrates may spike BS high level ? Night time most peoples are after meals taken rest and go to sleep .When the body completely rest carbohydrate or any complex carbohydrate may not digest properly
