Test HBA1C once more. Some times the test results are wrong. Once my HBA1C was reporte to be 9.8. My Doctor disbelieved it and asked me to test it once more. This time (in less than a week) the result was 6.3

Yes repeat HBA1C. If it higher than 6.5, you are diabetic but won't require any treatment other than ditary restriction and physical exercise.

Your fasting and pp are ok but HBA1C is too much.Get it tested twice,OGTT indicates that u r full blown candidate for diabets.

Hi shabu,

Your HbA1c result does not match with FBS & PPBS values. Look for an NABH, ISO or ACHSI certified lab & get tested.

How much glucose did you take for OGTT? What ever it be, you seem to be at least mildly diabetic. Proper diet correction will cure you soon.

Google "George Cured Diabetes" for details.

I agree with the views of Mr. Viadyanathan, HbA1c tests are not accurate enough to be used for initial diagnosis of diabetes.

Diabetes is diagnosed with the following blood tests:--

* Fasting blood glucose level -- diabetes is diagnosed if it is higher than 126 mg/dL two times

* Random (nonfasting) blood glucose level -- you may have diabetes if it is higher than 200 mg/dL, and you have symptoms such as increased thirst, urination, and fatigue (this must be confirmed with a fasting test)

* Oral glucose tolerance test -- diabetes is diagnosed if the glucose level is higher than 200 mg/dL after 2 hours.
