All medicines,without exception,will have side effects ranging from mild to severe.But they are still prescribed because the complications not taking medication are more damaging than the side effects.What we have to ensure is that keep a watch for symptoms of the side effects particularly,stomach,liver,kidney.lungs,bowel movement etc where most of the side effects manifest.A diabetologist is supposed to check for all these functions during the annual comprehensive review.We should also be aware of the side effects of the drugs we take and keep a look out for them.
