Several researchers have reported that pranayama techniques are beneficial in treating a range of stress-related disorders, improving autonomic functions, relieving symptoms of asthma (though a different study did not find any improvement[26]) and reducing signs of oxidative stress.
There is no scientific evidence that pranayama is a remedy for diabetes mellitus.

Pranayama is practiced because it soothes the mind,relieves tensions and tones body functions like breathing.In that process,it strenthens the body to manage it's sugar levels better.One cannot depend on pranayama alone for managing diabetes but you will certainly be more successful if you are also practicing pranayama along with,diet control,regular exercise and proper medication.
