Your numbers are unacceptably high.Alcohol is not good for diabetics though some people recommend limited quantities of red wine to promote health.Alcohol adds useless calories to your system which you have to account for through vigorous exercise or physical activity.Alcohol spikes the sugar level immediately after consumption and then drops suddenly to low levels. Both are not good for diabetics.Diabetics are liable for diabetic neuropathy in the long run and alcohol consumption aggravates that problem.
many thanks for your kind early reply.
do you think people with my levels of sugar, can live for a longer age?
Yes, but consult your doctor and take medicine continuously. Diabetes is not curable. But you can control it with medicine. Increase in sugar level will damage your vital organs. So please take care.
Actually, diabetics tend to live longer because they are the only guys who visit the doctor regularly and the doctor not only checks you for sugar levels but also for any other complication. You have a good chance of detecting any other adverse developments and take remedial action at an early stage.Recently I read a news item where in Ms.Halle Berry, popular Hollywood actress stating that she takes such good care of her diabetes, that she looks great on screen.

Here are some other ways that alcohol can affect diabetes:--
* While moderate amounts of alcohol can cause blood sugar to rise, excess alcohol can actually decrease your blood sugar level -- sometimes causing it to drop into dangerous levels.
* Beer and sweet wine contain carbohydrates and may raise blood sugar.
* Alcohol stimulates your appetite, which can cause you to overeat and may affect your blood sugar control.
* Alcohol can interfere with the positive effects of oral diabetes medicines or insulin.
* Alcohol may increase triglyceride levels.
* Alcohol may increase blood pressure.
* Alcohol can cause flushing, nausea, increased heart rate, and slurred speech.
Check liver function tests.
