It is good because most other grains are consumed whole ,so get more fiber. But how much you eat is equally important.

From the stable of India’s most trusted Atta brand - ‘Aashirvaad’ - comes a new variety – Aashirvaad Atta with Multigrains. This all-new variant is designed to provide nourishment for people of all ages and is an integrated mix of six different grains – wheat, soya, channa, oat, maize& psyllium husk – which gives a healthy option for the consumers. Aashirvaad Atta with Multigrains is an excellent source of vitamins which are vital in strengthening immunity and extra protein content to improve body strength. The extra fibre makes your food easier to digest; low content of saturated fat keeps your heart smiling. And above all, it still retains the same great taste!!

Eat one chappati now and another chappati two hours later and so on.This method of eating less quantity of food more times in a day will not elevate your blood sugar level.

"Eating smaller portions, spread out over the day" I have conveyed this message in my own words. If you consume 100 gms of sugar, you will have hyperglycemia for several hours. If you consume sugar 10 gms each during a period of 10 hours, the blood sugar level will not go beyond high normal limit. I have read this in several medical books.

Honestly we should skip roti and rice from our meals and that's the trick to deal with diabetes. But it's very hard to follow this practice as in our culture roti and rice are the major part of our meal throughout the day and that's the reason behind all the digestive issues altogether. And we must give up this bad habit.

I was severe diabetic and the first thing I did was, I stopped taking all the medicines to control the sugar level and stopped taking roti/rice since November 2015 and for first three months, I ate only raw vegetables, pulses and olive oil and after that I started taking 1-2 besan (chickpea flour) two times a day. I don't take sugar free and most importantly any milk product.

While my Hb1Ac count was 9.8 in November 2015 and my weight was 84.5 Kg., my Hb1Ac count is now 5.4 and weight is 67 Kg. and I am much healthier now.

My fasting sugar comes around 80-85 everyday and PP never goes beyond 150 no matter what and how much I eat.

Also I do intermittent fasting for 16 hours everyday. I take my breakfast/first meal at 1 PM and take dinner at 9 PM. I drink at least 6-7 liters of water everyday.

The bottom line is the vegetables and protein should be 75% of your total meal, drink plenty of water everyday, walk for at least 30 minutes if possible 15 minutes after each meal.

This has helped me a lot and hope it will help anybody who is suffering from diabetes.

Let me know if you have any question, would love to help.

Hi sktner, that was really helpful(and amazing that you came down from 9.8 to 5.4....... I could manage come down to 6.1 from 6.9)

Let me get your thoughts on following

>> 1 glass of milk at bedtime(without sugar)?

>> Buttermilk/curd during daytime?

>> sprouts as evening snack?

>> Mutigrain atta? Do you know of a combination of multigrain atta which excludes wheat?

>> when you say olive oil - you mean vegetables cooked in olive oil. Right?

>> Finally, is Besan good in Diabetes?

Regards,

Sid

This is really good news. How are you feeling now and whats the update on sugar level testings?

I like the way you practiced and wish to follow. But which raw vegetables you took and also the menu shall be different for each day to avoid a routine taste..

Kindly let me know the complete menu details.

Thanks

If you add equal quantity of low GI grains like Bengal Gram,Soyabean,Barley etc.,your intake of wheat(high GI) will be 1/4th so it is better to take multigrain atta than pure wheat

atta, If one can not avoid wheat completely atleast he can reduce the intake of wheat.

Even diabetics should eat balanced diet with adequate carbohydrates, fat and protein. So no point in leaving carbs.but yup complex carbs as in multigrain with fibre reduce glycemic index and help control diabetes.

We control diabetes because we want To prevent heart disease brain stroke kidney disease neurological diseases and lot more. If you eate high fat it will increase cholestrole bp and weight and also increase insulin resistance. So saturated fat should be below 10% of daily energy requirement and unsaturated fats should be around 10 to 20 percent of daily energy requirement.

I evaluated lot of options and tested them using CGM ( Medtronic Continuous Glucose Monitor). I agree the Multi grain diabetic Atta or Whole wheat Attas DID NOT work because they were still very high in Carbs and Soy Atta is inflammatory and I hated the taste. I was particularly disappointed by Aashirvaad diabetic ATTA. Taste was important for me because I wanted it to be a lasting solution.

The solution, I found is GET FIT Roti getfitroti.com - they do sell an atta blend.. Suggest your try it. They bring together low carb with good fats that not only lowers carb but adds good fats that is a must for good cardio-metaboilic health and enhances taste..

Shakti bhog , ashirwad and other brands, these company making fool all of us. They don't have manufacturing unit at own, instead they tender for manufacturing floor mills to a company which is located in Punjab (job work). If Shakti bhog want 1000 packets, they call to them, if ashirwad want 500 packets, they also call them and order. Atta is same (Desi wheat)

Not what you're looking for?
