You are confused. Insulin is meant for type 1 diabetes and in rarest of rare cases for type 2 only. You can not make out a choice other than what your learned doctor has prescribed.

Unless your exact sugar levels-- fasting, postprandial and random - are known, it may not be advisable to switch over to Insulin. Your doctor is your best guide. In diabetic medication, it is ALWAYS better to consult your doctor before you change your medicine or dosage.

I am diabetic for the last 8 yrs.I am 70 and on insulin. My problem is I get sweating suddenly for 30'second to 60-90 second. What does indicate?
