Hi! I’m a type 1 diabetic who has been on insulin for most of my 30+ years. What you can do is, start counting carbs for each meal and snack you have during the day. You take the dose based on your blood sugar and carbs you have eaten. Has your doctor explained how to do the carb counting during the appointment? I’m willing to explain it if you want me to do that for you.

I find it’s helpful to use one of those new aviva sensors you wear on your arm. It’s easier to check your blood sugar levels. I’m on the same insulin regime. Found that I mainly need to eat in moderation, no sugary drinks and crisps seem to send them up.
