What sort of diet do you follow? Cutting out carbs will reduce your BG levels. LCHF diet or Keto is worth considering.

Did your GP not offer any suggestions? Lots of info online about low-carb high-fat (LCHF) / Keto and how it can be used to prevent prediabetes progressing into T2.

Diabetes UK is a good starting point, as is the ketogenic forum and various podcasts.

If your sugar is high your already have diabetes. If you are over weight losing weight will often bring your sugar level down. Most type 2 diabetics are controlled with diet or oral medication. As a type 2 your body is supplying some insulin but not enough to keep your sugars in the normal range. Keep in touch with your doctor and you will have a good life.
