Dry cough and diabetes

My mother is suffering from extreme dry cough and she has diabetes she is currently on insulin.. sometimes its so severe that she cant even breathe plz suggest something

Have you talked to her doctor? Did they put her on anything for the coughing?

Have a chat with your local pharmacist and/or your mum's GP? No sugar cough syrup is known to cause tummy problems so personally I wouldn't take that but as she's insulin dependent she could allow for the full sugar version but I would speak to someone with medical training - ring 111 or if her breathing is really bad go to A&E.
