Has anyone tried a spoonful of manuka honey each day to help to get rid of a sore throat? I wonder about the sugar content and how it may affect my diabetes. would welcome any comments please.

not manuka but I do use a probiotic honey - a spoonful each day in lemon juice and since using it the frequency of throat problems has decreased significantly - gone from being regular to being rare.

This article may help you to get an idea of how a spoonful of honey compares to other foods in terms of glycemic index

Thank you! What an interesting article! So I shall continue with my honey and lemon and also continue to dodge the flu jab, as I have done successfully for the last 60 years!

I took manuka honey for a couple of months before meals as it helps with acid reflux. When I had annual bllod tests my GP asked how long I had been diabetic as my blood glucose was over 14.

I stopped that and Werthers Originals and it dropped to almost normal. Then they used the term glucose intolerant but now the say right away that you are T2.

Yes it's good for your general immune system also x
