For the last 3 days I've had a severe headache upon waking. It feels worse when I stretch first thing. It is on the right side of my head above my right eye and can radiate round towards the back of my head. I have been taking some paracetamol which a little helps but the headache is still a niggle in the background. Had hoped it would have gone by now. I don't visit doctors often and wouldn't feel a headache is reason to see GP so would like to manage as best I can with self help. Any suggestions much appreciated.

I find cool packs help me a lot, they have them in my chemist at the moment on offer, think you get 2 gel pads for £1.00 some kind of trial pack I think..I would imagine most chemists would stock them.. I've also used eye gel packs that you put in the fridge, they are just as good..
Thank you Michelle. The cooling packs sound like bliss. I'll try those next time. Luckily my headaches subsided. I've seen my GP as had palpitations and chests pains. So had lots of checks and am changing my blood pressure medication. Feeling so much better today.
