Recent heart attack
Hello everyone Thank you for letting me join this group . I’m 65. Fit and slim , regular walker and exercised since my early twenties. Had HA just over 3 weeks ago. No symptoms or heart problems previously. Just on the day it happened. Had CPR and defibrillator in hospital. Had emergency angioplasty

Defibs Saves Lives
It can happen to anybody, at any time, at any age.
When CPR chest compressions and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) are used together, the chances of survival from SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest) increase from 9% to 50%. This is why it is vital we know where our nearest AED is located,

Need GTN despite meds
I'm almost 85 & had a 2nd heart attack on 3/2/24. Needed defibrillator in ambulance, local hospital not available, so taken to another one. Existing stents ballooned. Recovering well but 3 weeks later, hospitalised for 10 days with low sodium. Only just stabilising with medication and restricted fluids

Cardiomyopathy and AF
My husband has cardiomyopthy and AF. He had had many procedures and fitted with a pacemaker/defibrillator in March. He has since gone downhill and losing weight and not eating. They are tweaking his meds and another possible ablation. His mental health is suffering. As a wife looking on I find I am helpless

Advice / opinions please
I had a follow up with Cardiology yesterday. Just trying digest and see what's the best route to take. I have 6 months to decide. Below is extracted from my clinic report letter "We discussed today that she is on maximal medical therapy and that she would qualify for a primary prevention defibrillator

update again
grumpy Grampy is in hospital. Due to the coughing GP, sent him to syncope clinic. I had to ask her to give him codiene linctus for his cough. She was only interested in stopping him driving. Anyway silver cloud and all that syncope clinic were happy with him and decided to do a two week heart trace….
