Hello all,

I am writing for an elederly relative who is 100% deaf in one ear and has NHS supplied Phonak Naida P70 UP aid for the other which has severe/profound loss.

We would like to get her communicating by telephone again for her welbeing.

She is not Tech savvy and has no internet, only corded landline telephone.

Any suggestions most welcome.

would she use a low tech mobile phone. You can then buy a loop from Amazon which she wears round her neck (about £40), plugs it into the phone and it transmits sound to the hearing aids. Needs to put aids on T setting.

You could attend an audiology appointment with her and they would give advice.

also, I am not familiar with this model but most of the new aids can be programmed to connect a mobile phone directly to the aids. Again, audiology would set it up.

She needs a mobile but not internet.

Hi. I'm 84 with two hearing aids. I just use the 'hands free' setting and talk to it.

As Dodie117 says - audiology are best placed to help with this question. I bought a special landline phone with a boost button for hearing impaired users but still prefer my mobile as I can stream it to my aids with a streamer which I wear round my neck (but my aids are Oticon). My deaf 90 year old parents manage to use FaceTime on the iPad - its easier to talk when you can lipread a bit!
