Is there a good cough/cold medicine for P... - Cure Parkinson's
Is there a good cough/cold medicine for PD patients?
I have had bronchitis and whooping cough! There is nothing I could take but antibiotic and Tylenol or children's Benedryl. Talk to your Neuro!
Blessings,
Carol
I will check with the doctor tomorrow regarding children's Benedryl. Thank you for your reply!
I would recommend plenty, plenty of fluids (as long as your kidneys are working and you don't have congestive heart failure) . Seriously, water, Gatorade, green tea, keep it going. Chicken soup. Then maybe a saline nasal rinse like a Nettie pot to get those germs reduced in your nasal cavities. Rest, Tylenol for aches. Cold medicines don't do much any way and they are dangerous with some pd meds. Prevention with lots of hand washing and flu shot.
Prevention? The grandkids had the colds first--can't resist hugs and kisses from them! Thanks for your suggestions!
I use a herbal cough remedy Balm of Gilead or a cheaper one called Killkof
But I also make Raspberry vinegar which is so lovely to soothe a sore throat after coughing
you can add hot water and sip it as a drink it is very comforting.
Remember this!
It's not the cough that carries you off,
It's the coffin they carry you off in!
or if the mucous is thick, I found the generic equivalent of Mucinex, a phlegm thinner, very helpful. Slippery elm, too, I understand is good.
Always, always check with your Neuro first before taking anything that's not a prescription!
Blessings,
Carol. <><

lemon juice, water, honey and ginger heated up. Also try to find some Elderberry
Export, you mean you can not phone your Neuro's Nurse or assistant and leave a message and they will return your call? Wow! That's what I do in Illinois in USA! So sorry!
