Its what i have been told, if we can sort our guts out we can get better . Gudrun jonnson in her The Gut reaction book , says she can cure pd by curing the gut. Diet and digestion are of prime importance. Its why i have refused meds.
Extreemly interesting
After all these years of research into PD surely then they should be treating the gut not the brain. unless I misheard something.
Damn wish I could watch. Could someone summarize? This is number one problem and I'm sure they are treating wrong end!

From Cure Parkinsons Latest Newsletter just out.
The Next Parkinsons Movement Webinar at the end of February.
"What does a brain disorder have to do with the gut you might ask. And, until recently, neurologists asked the same question. What is the link between the intestinal neurotransmitter systems and the basal ganglia in the brain? Can gut function tell us something about dopamine levels in the brain? Why does gut function mirror the brain? And most importantly, is the gut an early warning system for the brain? Can simple tests of gut function predict Parkinson's ahead of motor symptoms? All these questions and more will be answered by healthcare professionals and expert patients in the Parkinson's Movement webinar."
This was also in the CPT newsletter and can be accessed on their website.
Leaky gut in Parkinson's
31 January 2013
This very interesting article from 2011 is well worth a read if you have any interest in Parkinson's and the gut.
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder of aging. The pathological hallmark of PD is neuronal inclusions termed Lewy bodies whose main component is alpha-synuclein protein. The finding of these Lewy bodies in the intestinal enteric nerves led to the hypothesis that the intestine might be an early site of PD disease in response to an environmental toxin or pathogen.........However, the role of intestinal permeability in PD has never been tested. We hypothesized that PD subjects might exhibit increased intestinal permeability to proinflammatory bacterial products in the intestine. To test our hypothesis we evaluated intestinal permeability in subjects newly diagnosed with PD and compared their values to healthy subjects.
