The other night while I was home watching a DVD movie I started seeing double. I closed my right eye and was still seeing a double image. The next morning my vision was o.k. again but it was a weird experience. Anyone else have this problem?
Seeing Double: The other night while I was... - Cure Parkinson's
Seeing Double
I have many issues with my eyes that are PD related. I would recommend seeing a Neuro-Opthamogist! If you need a referral get one from your neurologist. Hope this helps.

Occasionally. I chalk it up to staring at the computer. I didn't know pd could cause eye trouble?
I have problems with seeing double also. It's usually when I'm reading on doing close up work.
There's a show in the archives on Parkinson's Recovery Radio about vision and Parkinson's.
It had a lot of good information. Blessings
i too have double vision when watching the tele but if i cover one eye it goes
Yes, I also have double vision that is still present if one eye is covered. I have been unable to find a definitive reason for this, and my opthalmologists have not been able to either, in fact some of them say it is impossible! I have had this for some years and it takes some time to go away. It is more noticeable if I have been reading and change my position or watching TV, i.e. looking at something for a longish time can result in this. I would love to know why it happens and what, if anything helps, because it seems to be relatively undocumented except for patients questions about it.
didn't realize that PD included vision just thought it was time to get new glasses. do any of you have the words floating on the pages when you are reading?
I notice that as my meds wear off my eyesight gets worse. One way I can tell meds are going away. Very strange. Going to the movies, I have a hard time with the 3D ones. Just hard to get focused in on for long periods. I use a straight edge to read so the lines do not blend together.

that sounds very familiar. once i was watching at an angle turning my head slightly. and saw a robin, pulling up a worm. i looked again and lo and behold there were two robins. perfectly synchronized. that was really neat. i thought. i looked away, and there was only 1 TV. but when i looked side ways. there were two. if i;\'m looking straight at something it is single. look sideways … double. i mentioned this to my neuro, and he had no comment. ?????? now i just look straight at everything and i only get a single image. doesn't seem like anyone knows. or they aren't telling me.
For me,My eyes get very slow reacting when my meds are wearing off,Someone can walk past me,it alittle hard to explain as if it's slices of the person walking by,A doctor had told me,Being parkinson involes the muscles,The eyes would be the weakess muscle and are affected with wearing down and my eyes get very slow,The left eye get stuck the doctor tells me to follow his finger and repeats to follow my finger not relizing it getstuck and then lets go,Well for me at least,At one point I felt like the room was spinning and my eye were turning clockwise and counterclockwise.Thought it was just a feeling they were doing that,My wife and daughter said the were really turning,My movement disorder doctor wanted me to go to a specialist to check for opitical dsyknisa. It's most likey two much sinement.
My diagnosis; 1. Convergence of the eyes: how the eyes work together with the brain and the rest of the body to perceive images and help us navigate the world. In Parkinson's Disease the eye loses the ability to work together with the brain and the rest of the body to perceive images, I.e double vision occurs. 2. Vitreous Gel Degeneration: the eye loses the gel in the eyeball. Causing blurred vision and can cause blindness. 3. Distortion of the Retina Surface: this is the result of aging and the retina in the back of the eye deteriates with age causing blurred and night vision this will continue with age and cause blindness. 4. Cataracts : is a clouding of the eyes natural lens which I have had surgery on both eyes and now have 20/20 vision in both eyes and just use readers for close up. So yes PD can cause eye problems. I have been diagnosed with all of these. It's important to see an opthamologist if you are having problems and you then can be referred to a Neuro Op. One is aging and the rest are PD related. Hope this helps someone.

Double vision was one of my first symptoms, though if I covered one eye I could see single. It has happened several times, neuro says it and the visual hallucinations (few times) is due to the PD affect on the optic nerve.
Sometimes my vision will change, went from 175 reading glasses to 250s for a few days and then it changed back to the 175s.
