Have any men had bladder issues: urgency, sense of fullness, trouble with the stream? My uro thinks it's "neurogenic bladder" due to the PD.

Sometimes the need to pee comes on so quickly that I am lucky to make it to the nearest bathroom.

My neurologist recently added Amantadine to my meds to help ease the dyskinesia caused by my dosgaes of Sinemet. It caused difficulty in passing of urine or even to begin a stream. She yesterday reduced the dosage and I'm in hopes that will help. Depends now makes a man's undergarment that looks more like a padded brief than a diaper, so I wear one whenever I know there isn't a bathroom immediately available, or I'm sitting in the middle of a big row of seats in a theatre during a serious drama. (Know what I mean?) I have actually had to urinate while in such a situation. The Depends worked like a charm, I wear a standard pair of briefs over the undergarment so that I'm not having to go "commando" when that happens and I have to dispose of the undergarment during intermission or what have you.. And I carry spares of everything in the car. Hope my candidness isn't TMI.

Same here. Must be the PD. I thought it was just an enlarged prostate.

the comment above was in response to Larry, but thank you Dave for answering - I take Amantadine and was not aware it may be a side efffect !

Yes I have problems although not so severe. My doc puts it down to the drug Mirtazapine which I take at night. This causes slowness in starting to pee.

i have problems starting a stream...also i have a problem getting an erection...or keeping it! my wife thinks i don't love her anymore because i have no sex drive! does anyone else experience this?! is it the disease or the meds?!

I have difficulty sustaining an erection(first wife had same reaction) but this is due to an accident some years ago which severed my urethra. Stitched back together again but the muscle was damaged and fails to seal the valve properly. Parkinsons may have a similar effect since it does affect muscle control - hence difficulties with urination and bowel movements.

I have trouble urinating at times. I also noticed that the Stalevo caused the urine to become dark and stains. Can not wear light colored or white underwear anymore. As for as sex drive, at 39 I am more sexual than ever before. I had to stop taking Mirapex because of the side effect of compulsive sexual behavior and gambling. I cut out all caffeine which has helped and drink plenty of water and apple cider or other low sugar fruit juice.
