Diagnosed in 2004 I have not yet startet to use Levedopa. I use Eldepryl and Requip and do a lot of different exersice. But for the last 3 months I have become very stiff and has strong pains in my lower back', hips and thighs.

And I wonder : will the start of using levedopa reduce the pains ?

Is the pain aggravated or relieved by any activities... standing sitting walking? c-l dopa might be helpful in reducing rigidity which could enhance stretching alleviating the pain.

Its most painful at night in bed, and all the day when I'm sitting. It's best when I am walking and moving around- It's aching in the front of my thigs when I'm sitting

Could be a degenerative disc. They swell up at night when unloaded. Sitting for a long time loads them back up. The aching is probably referred pain from the mid lumbar spine.... all very common problems even without PD. You might try lying face down in bed with your elbows under your shoulders and your head supported by your hands... shouldn't be painful. If it helps try holding 30 seconds plus frequently.

I try to do this in the mornings.

The pain are very hard when I wake up, and if I try to be sitting down in the morning. My fysio says this pain in the lower back often occur to some peope, and that it will get over sooner or later.

I don't think L-dopa will affect the pain directly. However, if the pain is cramping caused by tremors, dyskinesia or dystonia and the L-dopa decreases or eliminates those symptoms, I suppose it can help. Unfortunately, I've been on Sinemet for 15 + years and do not think it has done anything for my aches and pains. For that I use Ultra Tiger Balm and occassionally Lortabs.

Check with your neurologist - the best combo I've been given so far is Stalevo and Azilect. Nothing stops the pain in my lower back except OT Alieve

Over the counter - no rx needed.

I started Sinemet a few months ago as the side-effects of Orphenadrine (Disipal) which had been controlling my tremor, stiffness etc became intolerable. Sinemet unfortunately hasn't helped with those symptoms but I have my mind back. Prior to this I was taking Requipxl 16mg daily + Disipal for 3 out of 8yrs dxd. Nothing has yet touched the Disipal for the control of most physical aspects BUT that's how it is for me. I tried Selegiline - no good, Rasagiline ditto. We're back to trial & error for our individual conditions.

Yes in a way. I know with injuries I need to take sinemet sooner rather than later. Otherwise dystonia sets in with inflammation. And pain is usually a sign it's time to medicate. Like now! But still need advil sometimes.

I use sinemet Dr says it is one of the 1st drugs used for PD I don't see any pain relief from it except one of the side effects is sleeplisness....so they gave me klonipon to help with the anxiety and to help me relax at night

klonopin seems like shooting a mouse with an elephant gun. You should try smoking some marijauna at night.
