Are these pains associated with dystonia, muscle spasms? If so they may respond to some meds such as klonazapam or cannabis high in cbd or cbn content. Also DBS has helped me immensely.

I've had PD for over 12 yrs. and just this last winter, approx. January to March timeframe, I was having excruciating pain in my thighs that would go up through the groin. It felt deep like it was in the muscle or even in the bone. I tried Physical Therapy, massage, pain lotions, Ibuprofen, and even a chiropractor, nothing seemed to help at all. My neurologist thought it could be from rigidity so she started me on Requip, but I couldn't take it for very long (2 weeks) because I fell asleep briefly when I was driving. (No one got hurt, just my rim on my tire was messed up a little), but the Requip didn't seem to be helping anyway. A friend suggested I try Emergen C. After a couple of weeks, the pain was gone. Just all of a sudden one evening I started marching around the house & my husband laughed & asked what I was doing. I said, no pain in my legs! What a relief. I haven't had the courage to stop taking the Emergen C to see if the pain comes back. Emergen C consists of 1,000 mg. of Vit. C, some B vitamins, magnesium, and electrolytes (it's a powder you mix with water). Vit. C. is an antioxidant so I truly believe lots of antioxidants are good for PD, but that is strictly my opinion. And, I don't do this as well as I should, but keeping hydrated is also a good thing. If you or anyone else tries Emergen C & gets good results (or doesn't), please let me know.

Sorry I just saw your question. I take 1 packet a day. A friend that told me about it takes 2 & her doctor said it was ok to take 2.

Hi. Have you tried Emergen C yet? If you have, has it helped?

In December I started severe muscle cramps in my left leg I could not put any weight on it. I now do stretching exercises and take Gabbapentin and this has taken care of the problem.

what is gabbapentin

It is a prescription drug used some for restless leg, but it helps with muscle and nerve pain. Along with stretching exercise it has eliminated my pain.

I get that in my right arm and it gets so bad it reduces me to tears. Acupuncture, physical therapy, tai chi and yoga have all helped. But I now plan to try Emergen C!

Magnesium taken orally or magnesium oil or lotion rubbed into legs have helped me.
