Pain meds?

Is anyone on pain meds? My husband takes hydrocodone. He has had shoulder replacement on both shoulders (which I wouldn't recommend to anyone) and 5 surgeries on his left foot. So he is always in pain. He also takes Gabapentin. I worry about all these meds and their effect on his PD

Hydrocone (Tramadol) works for me. My PD meds are Requipxl & 125mg Sinemet. I also take Seroxat for depression & Clopidogrel & Aspirin following a heart attack last yr. I hope you find suitable pain relief. Acupuncture (NHS) & hypnotherapy (£45) also work for me.

Tramadol works for me. My dr. told me that Tramadol is a nonnarcotic centrally acting analgesic. It produces similar effects to narcotics but with fewer side effects. That helped me feel a little better about taking it because I am so afraid of getting addicted to pain meds.

I Cheri you can get addicted to pain meds when the need is greater than the requirement , it also depends on the type of pain, it's very complicated the way the brain and body reacts to analgesic . If analgesic is needed take it . Many people take meds that are too strong for their complaint however most people with Chronic pain never get more than 30% relief from meds.

Thank you for this question!! I will look into the tramadol for my husband. He is alwaysin pain too. He had back surgery and now is having to have neck surgery. He is holding off on that. He does not want any more done to him.

I have hydrocodone (Lortabs) which I rarely use. My orthopedic surgeon said he doesn't want to do surgery because he's not sure it would solve my pain. He has me do shoulder and back exercises. The thing that works best for me is Ultra or Extra Strength Tiger Balm. My wife rubs it on and the pain disappears in a few minutes and doesn't return for several hours.
