I wish I was a mouse, there would be so many good treatments available. Having to have my brain dissected shortly afterwards would be the downside.
Yup, mouse brains are totally different than human brains. So, don't get hopes too high. PD has been cured dozens of times in mice..who don't naturally get PD. They don't even have melanated dopaminergic neurons. Translation from rodents to humans doesn't work.
Six days ago, MBAnderson reported this research, and it has been discussed in detail here. It might be beneficial to review the earlier responses and consider continuing the discussion there.
