There’s a lot of talk about PD beginning in the gut. I am absolutely positive that mine got worst in my gut.
I lost power the morning of September 27th and I was without power for over a week due to hurricane Helene. I ate a lot of shelf stable products during that period and came down with irritable bowel. I had 7 weeks of diarrhea. I took Keopectate. I believe the Keopectate settled in my large intestine, and I had a constipation, that was followed by loose stools and then diarrhea. The 7th week I eat a few bananas. Some fully ripe and some not; and finality my gut was back to normal. But: My PD was worst — I had gone more than 2-1/2 years without an increase in C/L; I had stopped progression; I increased my C/L from 6 a day to 8 a day and I still had more tremor than before. (Note: My sweet-spot was 200mg of B1 oral HCL and I did not change my dose during the period.)
It’s been more than 5 months. I have taken a B1 break and restarted B1 at 100mg oral HCL 8 days ago. I have regained some (less tremor), but not where I was before and I am still taking 8 C/L a day. Dap1948 indicates if you feel any improvement — stop increasing, but her protocol also indicates don’t increase C/L which I have, So I plan to stay at a 100 mg for at least a month. Hopefully, I will be able to decrease my C/L back to 6 a day.
