AJ........I'm on line for the pump, going live soon & in communication with recent users. While a big "selling" point of Vyalev is that it gets around the food/protein/levadopa issue, this is not the case with all users as some are still suffering.
Will keep you posted as our group of Pump Pioneers reaches out to Abbvie to make them aware. Hang in.
Thank you. Give heads up on insurance and other issues when you can thanks. Also if it helps with the constipation issues.
AJ..... . The word, seems to be,that Medicare will cover it the second half of the year. That said, when I was calling Abbvie, they told me it was a case by case basis. I had my doctor get the paperwork in and at 65 they enrolled me. I guess Abbvie is paying until Medicare covers it.
The pump is a smoother, more efficient way of taking your newer version of c/l, so therefore I don't believe it takes care of symptoms that your present c/l does not help with either, such as constipation, balance,,urinary urgency, etc.
You also must be under 64 and have private insurance that covers it. It has not been approved by Medicare and my docs seem to think it will be next year before that happens.
My neurologist has some patients who are using it and there have been some members here who are using it, but the limits I mentioned apply.
