some recent research that adds fuel to the fire regarding the benefits of ketones. It shows how ketones clear up mis folded proteins in the brain.

Sounds interesting. Will watch.
The important thing to remember is that your body makes ketones naturaly given the right (ketogenic) diet, also you brain is mostly made of cholesterol so taking statins is bad for neurodegenerative diseases (current research show that they're mostly ineffective at stopping heart atacks and strokes anyway)
This seems to be an over simplification
The brain does contain a lot of fats and cholesterol is part of cell membranes. However, saying the brain is “mostly made of cholesterol” is not accurate. It’s high in fat (and water), but it’s not literally mostly cholesterol. Cholesterol is important for normal brain function, though.
The issue of Statins and neurodegenerative diseases is more complex. Some people worry that lowering cholesterol might affect brain health, but the scientific evidence is mixed. Certain studies even suggest statins might slightly reduce the risk of dementia, while others find no effect or uncertain results. It’s definitely not as simple as “statins are bad for the brain.
Also, statins are generally considered effective at lowering LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and reducing certain cardiovascular risks. They don’t guarantee no heart attacks or strokes, but most guidelines still see them as a key therapy for high-risk patients.
Tere are two types of LDL, the normal (good) and the oxidised (bad). Tue that you can lower the bad by lowering the overall which reduces the amount that can be oxidised but far better to reduce the oxidation which will preserve the 'good'. youtu.be/WHgGQfPSlrU?si=vvF...
