VibroTactile therapy and short stepping/gait freeze

The deciding factor for me to build my PD gloves was I was starting to experience short stepping/gait freeze. Of all the PD symptoms that I have, that one scares the hell out of me the most. I am posting this appeal particularily to those who have endeavored to build any of the devices designed by PDBuzzboard and found on YouTube. I have been using my gloves for over twelve weeks now with good success with virtually all my symptoms except my short stepping/gait freeze, which I just started to experience about three months before I started using my gloves. If anyone who is using these devices developed by PDBuzzboard and are dealing with short stepping/gait freeze I would very much appreciate hearing about your results and methods, sketches etc.

Thanks so much, Craig

For how long do you buzz each day?

Thanks for responding. Typically I buzz for 1 to 1.5 hours twice a day. I found that buzzing for 2 hours gets me overamped which makes me dyskinesic

Have you tried lowering one session and increasing one, or lowering both sessions?I know it's sounding like finding the B1 sweet spot 😁

Yes, I've tried that but I'm not keeping a daily log (my bad) so that's good advice. Are you using a PDBuzzboard device and if so, which of his sketches are you using. I'm using the VibroTherapyMotorShield_167.

Thanks, Craig

I am still searching for someone who can make the gloves for me 😔

Hi Jay. Several months ago, I was about to commission someone to build a DIY pair of gloves. However, I realized that I would have no way to verify whether or not the gloves were indeed built correctly according to the specs (for all I know, I may just be spending on an overpriced set of finger-massager because the instructions were not followed.) This is why I chose to use the bhaptics gloves instead. This is something that you need to consider.

I would need to consider the costs upto my home in India...

Do the Bhaptics provide stimulation at the correct position and duration?

With regrds to the bhaptics specs, there are others who are more qualified to answer.

I have found that, as Buzz has pointed out in his videos, that you should buy extra parts for the finger motors because they break down often, at least mine do. The wiring that comes off the motors is very thin and therefore a bit difficult to get a good solder connection. The bottom line is there’s a learning curve there and if you don’t make them yourself, you won’t know how to fix them. I made mine using weightlifting gloves so they would be versatile enough for me to use going for walks, using my exercycle, eating dinner, reading, doing PT, doing light chores around the house etc. Unless you can find somebody close to home that would be willing to fix them regularly, if it all possible, it’s best to build them yourself.

Cheers, Craig

do you have any advice on which directions you use to build the glove along with a parts list?

I used his last iteration of the gloves using the Arduino Uno to control both gloves in unison and the RJ-45 connectors, except I used different gloves than the adulterated archery gloves that he has in his how to video on YouTube. It's titled "Motorshield gloves Update"

Thank you. This is so valuable!

I have a couple of posts out there describing how I cured the one inch shuffle simply by wearing some curious massaging insole sandals sold by temu for about eight bucks. I swear by them to the point that I am almost addicted to them but despite lots of pwp here trying them,ño one reports results quite as marked as mine have been.
