When I offer my son-in-law or daughter something , maybe a beer or a coke or their daughters something maybe a glass of lemonade or ice water they all respond the same . " I am OK "
My wife says that this means "No thank you" , but I detect a sort of disdain in their voice.
So I decided to not offer anything more to people that are "OK " they don't need anything, so I can now stop buying their favorite beers and things . I don't drink any kind of beer anyway and I was the one who had to make the lemonade so that is a task off my list .

My world is running along just fine . I can still rant , although not with conviction. Any time I hear from you it makes me happy. Thank you , I mean I am OK.
I wonder if you are being over sensitive. I notice this with my husband that he now reads things into everything when people say stuff and assumes they mean the worse, and takes offence when none was intended. This is a new thing since having Parkinson’s as he never appeared to do it previously, or at least never said.
Anyway, give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they don’t mean anything more than no thanks , I don’t want a drink right now🙂.
Getting upset or grumpy about it will make you feel worse and they probably won’t even notice!
It’s a form of delusion. I started getting these thoughts too and the through therapy learned to deal with them. Be happy that the kids are visiting! And take their responses to what they are. Would you like a beer? No Ism ok. I don’t want to drink beer now.
God bless you. We all get it! (We persons with PD). Reach out to God for help and comfort - then forgive, buy some beer and make lemonade because kindness makes this world better and revenge makes it worse
